  • The interview committee makes coach recommendations based on.
    • Previous experience.

Open Coaching Positions – BEFORE Evaluations

Often, most coaching positions are not filled by the posted deadline. In this case, the association makes every effort to fill the position. If no one applies for a particular grade/level, the Board will post that opening on the association's website following the Sept meeting. Interested parties can contact the association by email.

Coaching Changes – AFTER Evaluations

After evaluations, coaching changes may be necessary due to the coach's player placing higher or lower than anticipated. This could result in changes to the head coach's placement.

When the player is not approved for the A team, a discussion between the A and B coaches and the Board will happen to discuss possible coaching changes. This is designed to ensure players play on the team best suited to their skill level.

Coaches selected as B team coaches with a player who makes the A team because of evaluations can opt out of coaching, or, with board permission, their player may choose to play on the B team.

Suppose a B or C coach's player makes a higher team; they can elect to give up their head coach position; the Board will immediately notify parents and players of the open head coach position. The Board will post that opening on the association's website.

There will not be a team if no coach can be secured by the posted deadline following tryouts.

Filling Open Coaching Positions – AFTER TRYOUTS

Evaluations are held in early or mid-September, with team practices starting in late October or early November, giving the association only a few short weeks after evaluations to fill any remaining open coaching positions.

  • After evaluations, open coaching positions and final player/team placements are posted.
  • Coaching applications are immediately accepted for qualified candidates on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Candidate interviews may be held in person or over the phone by members of the Board Interview Committee.
  • If qualified individuals step up, the Board will not wait until the deadline to fill coaching positions.
