Belle Plaine Travel Basketball is a competitive basketball program dedicated to skill development and team play. Our season runs from November through February/March, offering players a structured environment to grow and compete. Where
Practices will be held at Oak Crest or the Belle Plaine Senior High North or South Gyms. Games and tournaments are subject to change on a weekly basis.
Practices
Typically, 2 practices a week for 4-6th grade (slightly less for 3rd grade). 7th/8th grade will have limited practices during their junior high school ball season.
Games
Tournament schedules will vary based on the age and skill level of the team. This is both at the coach's discretion and the board's. Typically, teams will compete in either the same number of tournaments as their grade or potential 1 more or less, based on tournament budget as well as coach/board discretion. For example, 6th grade would compete in 5-6 tournaments in a season. 4th grade 3-4 tournaments in a season. Most tournaments are one day; however, some are 2 days. Tournaments are local and/or metro-based.

2026-2027
Welcome to the 2026–2027 Belle Plaine Traveling Basketball season! Our traveling program provides boys and girls in grades 3–8 with the opportunity to develop their basketball skills while competing against teams from surrounding communities.
The season emphasizes player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a positive competitive experience. Players will participate in evaluations (where applicable), regular team practices, league games, and weekend tournaments throughout the winter season. Practices typically begin in the fall, with games and tournaments running from November through February or early March, depending on the team's schedule.
Travel basketball requires a commitment from both players and families, including regular attendance at practices, games, and tournaments. Our goal is to help every athlete improve their individual skills, build confidence, compete with integrity, and develop a lifelong love of the game.
We look forward to another exciting season representing Belle Plaine Basketball!
