Winter Season 2025-26

Belle Plaine Travel Basketball is a competitive basketball program dedicated to skill development and team play. Our season runs from November through February/March, offering players a structured environment to grow and compete. Participants will have the opportunity to refine their skills and take part in several tournaments throughout the season. We emphasize learning the game, working as a team, and striving for excellence on and off the court.

The 2025-26 registration process will be slightly different then it has been in years past. Due to the changes in Community Education with the adding back of the Waconia league and the hope to streamline the process for families as much as possible anyone who is interested in participating in Basketball 3rd-6th grade is asked to sign up using the Arux system (see below). Once this has been done attend this try out if the desire if to participate in travel basketball. After try outs the BPBA will decide on team placements and a communication will be sent out regarding placements. At that time if your child has been placed on a team you will need to complete the BPBA registration for the Winter Season 25-26 here on the BPBA website to lock in that spot.

For 7th and 8th grade families: those interested in playing a travel season under the Program Tab register for the 7/8 Try Out Winter Season 25-26. Have your child attend try out at their specific time based on grade and gender. After try outs if child has been placed on a team you will need to complete the BPBA registration for the Winter Season 25-26 here on the BPBA website to lock in that spot.

Deadline to register for Tryouts is September 11, 2025.

***If you are interested in Coaching please submit a coaching application. A new coaching application needs to be submitted annually. Deadline for coaching applications is Friday Sept 12th at 11:59pm.

Ages

3rd grade through 8th grade for both boys and girls.

When

The season starts in early November and will go until the end of February- mid March depending on the age of the team. There are some variations with the junior high age groups due to their junior high season.

Where

Practices are typically held either at Oakcrest or the Belle Plaine High School Gyms.

Practices

Typically, 2 practices a week for 4-6th grade (slightly less for 3rd grade). 7th/8th grade will limited practices during their junior high school ball season.

Games

Tournament schedules will vary based on age and skill level of the team. This is both at the coach's discretion as well as the board's. Typically, teams will compete in the either the same number of tournaments as their grade or potential 1 more or less based on tournament budget as well as coach/board discretion. For example, 6th grade would complete in 5-6 tournaments in a season. 4th grade 3-4 tournaments in a season. Most tournaments are one day however there are some that are 2 day. Tournaments are local and/or metro based.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are parents allowed to attend tryouts/evaluations?

Parents are not allowed in the building or gym during the tryouts/evaluations.

If I am not able to attend a tryout, what should I do?

What does the registration fee include?

The registration fee covers a portion of the shooting shirt, the facility fees for use of the gyms and all the tournament fees.
